Cookie Policy
1. Introduction
1.1. This Cookie Policy explains how iradio S.R.L., a Romanian company registered with the Trade Register under no. J2024003934236, fiscal code (CUI) 50155192, with its registered office at Str. Emil RacoviΘΔ nr. 29, Bl. A4, Sc. 1, Ap. 1, Bucharest, Romania ("Daily Radio", "we", "us"), uses cookies and similar technologies on the Website and in the Daily Radio service (the "Service").
1.2. This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we process personal data in general. We use cookies in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Romanian Law no. 506/2004 on the processing of personal data and the protection of private life in the electronic communications sector (implementing the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC).
2. What are cookies and similar technologies?
2.1. Cookies are small text files placed on your computer, tablet or phone by a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to keep sessions open, to remember preferences and to provide information to the site operator. Cookies set by us are "first-party cookies"; cookies set by other companies whose services we embed (for example, our payment or security providers) are "third-party cookies".
2.2. Cookies may be "session cookies" (deleted when you close the browser) or "persistent cookies" (kept for a defined period or until deleted).
2.3. We also use similar technologies: browser local storage and equivalent mechanisms used by our audio player and interface (for example, to remember player state and volume, to coordinate playback between browser tabs, and to keep interface preferences). Where such technologies store or access information on your device, the same legal rules and the choices described in this Policy apply to them.
3. Legal basis and consent
3.1. Strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies β those without which the Website and the Service cannot function properly (authentication, security, session management, payment processing, load balancing, recording your consent choices) β are used on the basis of art. 4(5)(b) of Law no. 506/2004, without requiring consent, and, where personal data is processed, on the legal bases described in the Privacy Policy (performance of the contract and our legitimate interest in the security and functioning of the Service).
3.2. All other categories (functional/preference, analytics, advertising β to the extent we use them) are used only with your prior consent, expressed through the cookie banner displayed on your first visit or through the cookie settings available on the Website. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time, with effect for the future, as described in Section 7.
3.3. At the effective date of this Policy, we do not use third-party advertising cookies and we do not use third-party audience-measurement/analytics cookies on the public Website; listening statistics needed to operate the Service are collected server-side through authenticated requests of the audio player, as described in the Privacy Policy. If we introduce analytics or advertising cookies in the future, they will be activated only after your consent, and this Policy and the cookie banner will be updated beforehand.
4. Cookies and similar technologies we use
4.1. Strictly necessary (no consent required)
| Name (typical) | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session cookie (e.g., PHPSESSID / rf_session) | dailyradio.com (first party) | Keeps you logged in, maintains your session, enforces the one-active-session-per-account rule, protects the client and admin areas | Session |
| CSRF protection token | dailyradio.com (first party) | Protects forms and account actions against cross-site request forgery attacks | Session |
| Cookie-consent preference | dailyradio.com (first party) | Records the choices you made in the cookie banner so we do not ask again on every visit | Up to 12 months |
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare (third party) | Bot management and protection of the Website against malicious automated traffic | Approx. 30 minutes |
| cf_clearance / other cf_* security cookies | Cloudflare (third party) | Security challenges and denial-of-service protection applied by our network security provider | Up to 12 months (varies with security settings) |
| __stripe_mid | Stripe (third party; set on checkout/billing pages) | Fraud detection and prevention for card payments | Approx. 12 months |
| __stripe_sid | Stripe (third party; set on checkout/billing pages) | Fraud detection and prevention for card payments (session-level) | Approx. 30 minutes |
Stripe cookies are set only when the payment interface is loaded (checkout, billing pages). For more information, see Stripe's cookie policy (https://stripe.com/cookies-policy/legal) and Cloudflare's cookie documentation (https://developers.cloudflare.com/fundamentals/reference/policies-compliances/cloudflare-cookies/).
4.2. Functional β local storage and similar technologies
| Item | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Player state and preferences (e.g., volume, last station, player visibility) | dailyradio.com (first party, local storage) | Remembers your player settings so playback resumes comfortably | Until deleted by you |
| Audio-focus coordination between tabs | dailyradio.com (first party, browser messaging/local storage) | Ensures only one tab plays audio at a time, preventing overlapping playback | Not persistent beyond the browsing context |
| Interface preferences (e.g., collapsed/expanded sections, list page size in authenticated areas) | dailyradio.com (first party, local storage/session) | Remembers how you left interface elements | Until deleted / session |
These items store technical preferences on your own device, are not used to track you across other websites and are not shared with third parties. To the extent any of them is not strictly necessary, it is used on the basis of your consent expressed in the cookie banner.
4.3. Analytics and advertising cookies
Not used at the effective date of this Policy β see Section 3.3.
5. Third-party cookies
The third-party cookies listed in Section 4.1 (Cloudflare, Stripe) are set by those providers as part of delivering security and payment services to us. These providers may process the associated data (such as IP address and device information) as described in their own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to read: Stripe β https://stripe.com/privacy; Cloudflare β https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/. Transfers of data outside the EEA by these providers are covered by the safeguards described in Section 6 of our Privacy Policy.
6. How long do cookies last?
The indicative lifetimes of each cookie are listed in the tables in Section 4. Actual names and durations may vary slightly depending on provider updates and security settings; we keep this Policy under review to reflect material changes.
7. How to manage cookies and withdraw consent
7.1. Cookie banner / settings. On your first visit, the cookie banner lets you accept or refuse the categories that require consent. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time using the cookie settings link available on the Website (footer), which reopens the banner. Withdrawal of consent takes effect for the future and does not affect the lawfulness of the use of cookies before withdrawal.
7.2. Browser controls. Most browsers let you view, block and delete cookies for any website. Instructions for the most common browsers: Google Chrome β https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647; Mozilla Firefox β https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enhanced-tracking-protection-firefox-desktop; Apple Safari β https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/safari/sfri11471/mac; Microsoft Edge β https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/delete-cookies-in-microsoft-edge-63947406-40ac-c3b8-57b9-2a946a29ae09. Local storage can be cleared from the same browser privacy settings (usually under "site data").
7.3. Consequences of blocking. If you block or delete strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Website and the Service will not work: you may be unable to log in, to keep a session open, to complete payments or to maintain player preferences. Blocking Cloudflare security cookies may prevent access to the Website while security challenges are active.
8. Cookies and personal data
Where cookies or similar technologies involve the processing of personal data (for example, IP addresses processed by our security provider, or session identifiers linked to your account), that processing is described in our Privacy Policy, and you benefit from all the rights set out there, including the right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian supervisory authority (ANSPDCP, https://www.dataprotection.ro).
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, in particular when we change providers or introduce new categories of cookies. The current version, with its effective date, is always available on the Website; where changes require new consent, the cookie banner will be shown again.
